Dear Dr. Berger, Marianne, Marissa, & Staff,
Thank you all so much for you warm welcome- I felt so at home in your office and so comfortable after talking with you. Your expertise and impeccable attention to detail were very obvious. Thank you so much for your generosity in providing this complimentary procedure. Overall, it was such a fun experience and I feel now more confident than ever!
So looking forward to seeing you all for my next appointment in March! Thanks J
It was as good as having surgery at home performed by my own mother.
In the late summer of 2006 I was diagnosed with Paget’s Disease. This is a rare form of breast cancer that affects the milk ducts beneath the nipple onto the surface of the nipple. My oncologist and primary surgeon both agreed that a full mastectomy was the best course of treatment. Thankfully, I was referred to Dr. Saul Berger, who performed a TRAM flap reconstruction. I could not have asked for a more skilled and kinder person to handle this procedure. After several months of recuperation, the swelling eventually went down and the bruising disappeared. A second surgery was later performed to reconstruct the areola and nipple. Once again, Dr. Berger is the only person I entrusted with my body.
I was extremely lucky to receive a clean bill of health after the first surgery. None of the cancer had spread and I was at level zero. In the months that followed I began wondering how my new breast would affect the wonderful world of dating. It’s not something I even considered beforehand, but now having a new lease on life, why not start living it? The issue of intimacy was now a real factor in my life. I was nervous about meeting someone and wondering if they would be able to tell that part of me was a little different. These thoughts actually kept me single for some time. Now, I can positively say that at least one member of the opposite sex had no idea that one of my breasts had been completely reconstructed and was none the wiser.
I thank God and the universe for sending Dr. Berger to me. I have done vast amounts of research before and after my surgeries and many of the post operative photos handled by other surgeons made me nauseous. Aside from a little scarring, I look at my body in the mirror and see no difference. I never imagined the results would be this perfect. Dr. Berger does incredible work, but more importantly, he truly cares about his patients.
Thanks for taking such good care of me and helping to make me whole again.

I wanted to thank you again for the fabulous reconstructive surgery you performed for me. It’s been 25 years since my mastectomy and thanks to you I finally feel like a normal woman. It is rare to find one true doctor. Someone that is real, caring and one that really goes out of his way. As a minority, I have been through a lot. I feel blessed and consider you an answer to my prayer. My family and I will always remember you and how you’ve played a vital role in my dreadful breast cancer ordeal. No amount of words is enough to let you know how thankful we are. May God bless you and always keep you in good health for there’s more out there like me that needs you.

I know it’s your job to be kind and thoughtful with all your patients but I just wanted to let you know that you do an exceptional job at comforting nerves and cold feet. I can’t begin to tell you how much more nervous I would’ve been if it weren’t for your cool, your staff’s calm and collected easygoingness, and all the reassurance from all of you that everything was going to be all right and indeed everything turned out to be more than okay so my sincerest gratitude to all of you.
Thank you so much for taking the time and doing a beautiful job on my lips.
